Plans and BBT

What BBT is, how plans grant it, how to read your remaining balance, and what happens when you run out.

4 min readUpdated 2026-06-07

bbuddy bills in a capacity unit called BBT (bbuddy-token). Every action your engine performs uses BBT. The Pro plan grants a fresh amount of BBT at the start of each billing period. This article covers how to read your balance, how the dial moves, and what to do when you run low.

What costs BBT

Anything that uses the engine. The most common actions:

  • Drafting a post.
  • Generating an image.
  • Generating or transcribing a video.
  • Reading a page or feed into the library.
  • Replying to a chat prompt in the dashboard.

Things that do not cost BBT: viewing the dashboard, editing drafts in place, scheduling, publishing already-approved posts, revoking a connection.

Where to read your balance

Open Settings → Usage. The usage view shows:

  • BBT remaining for this period.
  • The period start and renewal dates.
  • Recent ledger entries for chat, image, automation, and other AI actions.

The same tab also has the billing portal button for managing your subscription.

Plans

Current plans live on the pricing page. Today there is one Pro plan with two billing cadences:

  • Monthly, billed each month.
  • Annual, billed once per year at a lower monthly equivalent.

The product access is the same on both cadences. BBT is the consumable unit; seats are not the pricing unit.

When you run low

bbuddy does not auto-charge overages and does not top up your balance automatically. If the next generation would exceed your remaining BBT, the AI action pauses until your period renews.

What happens when the balance hits zero

bbuddy pauses any action that would consume BBT. Concretely:

  • The next recurring suggestion run is skipped. If there is no active subscription and no BBT left, recurring suggestions are turned off until you add BBT or reactivate a plan.
  • On-demand drafts and image-generation requests are paused.
  • The chat agent in the dashboard replies with a budget notice instead of running.

Already-approved drafts continue to publish on their slots. bbuddy never holds your scheduled content hostage to a balance refresh.

Cancelling

Open Settings → Usage, then Manage billing. The Polar portal lets you cancel without contacting support. You keep access through the end of the paid period.

Cancellation stops future renewals. It does not immediately delete your drafts, library, brand profile, or scheduled posts.

If you delete your bbuddy account from the Danger zone, bbuddy cancels any active plan before removing the account. If cancellation cannot be confirmed, deletion stops.
