The Library is bbuddy's long-term context. It stores the things the assistant should remember: brand facts, tone notes, products, offers, examples, imported pages, image references, and feedback rules.
What the Library is for
- Brand memory: who you are, what you sell, who you serve, and how you sound.
- Reusable facts: product details, service descriptions, event information, testimonials, FAQs, and claims you are comfortable repeating.
- Creative direction: tone rules, image style rules, formatting preferences, thread preferences, and examples of good posts.
- Source material: imported pages, blog posts, product pages, uploaded snippets, and saved feed items.
Favorites matter
Favorite items are treated as high-priority context. Use the star when an item should influence future generation more than a normal note. Good favorites include your brand voice summary, core offer, evergreen positioning, and durable content rules.
Library buttons and filters
- Import from URL: paste a homepage, product page, article, or public page. bbuddy imports useful content and creates Library rows from it.
- New item: create a manual Library item. Use this for tone rules, product facts, brand notes, or copy snippets.
- Search: search titles and content.
- Type filter: narrow by item kind, such as brand voice, text snippet, image, long-form content, or imported page.
- Category filter: narrow by your own grouping, such as product, event, content rule, testimonial, or FAQ.
- Source filter: separate manual notes, chat feedback, uploads, imported URLs, and other origins.
- Star button: show only favorites when used as a filter, or favorite an individual item on its card.
- Grid/List toggle: switch between visual cards and dense table review.
- Delete: permanently remove selected Library items. Use this when a fact is outdated or should no longer shape posts.
What to put in a manual item
A manual item should be clear enough for a writer to use without asking you again. Title it plainly, choose a type, add a category or tags, and write the actual rule or fact in the content field.
- Title: "Use plain explanations for news posts"
- Category: "content_rule"
- Tags: "content-rule", "news", "plain-language"
- Content: "When posting about an article or concept, explain the idea directly. Do not only tease and link out."
Brand profile rows
Importing a site can create a brand profile with name, summary, palette, visual cues, and positioning. You can open it from the Library, review the details, and adjust palette roles so generated images and UI previews stay closer to your brand.
When to delete versus update
- Update when the idea is still true but wording, tags, or details changed.
- Delete when the item is wrong, stale, duplicated, or should no longer influence drafts.
- Unfavorite when the item is useful but should not dominate future generations.
