Generating on-brand images

How image generation, uploads, attachments, and platform media rules work in the live product.

6 min readUpdated 2026-06-07

bbuddy can work with media, but the live product does not have a dedicated Library Assets screen with evergreen pins or a universal regenerate button for every draft. Media is handled through uploads, suggestions, posts, Library items, and assistant tools.

Creating an image

Ask the assistant for an image when a draft needs one. The image-generation tool uses your prompt and available brand context, then stores the media so it can be attached to a suggestion or post.

Uploading media

Composer and attachment surfaces let you upload images or videos from your device. Drop a file into the attachment area or use the upload button, then bbuddy attaches the media to the post, suggestion, or Library item you are working on.

For draft and scheduled posts, you can also ask bbuddy in chat to replace the media before the post goes live. Always re-check the preview after changing media, especially for posts with different platform versions.

Attachment controls

In the composer, use the attachment panel to add media, remove a selected asset, or replace it before publishing. If a post has several platform versions, check the media shown for each platform before using Post now or Schedule.

Platform media rules

Some platforms accept text-only posts, while others require media for certain formats. Instagram feed publishing requires a photo or video. Pinterest pins are inherently visual and always need an image or video. TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Reels-style content, and other video-first formats should be treated as media-first drafts.

Instagram feed images also have shape rules. bbuddy helps images fit the accepted range when possible, so a very wide or very tall image is less likely to block publishing. You should still review the final crop in the post preview before approving.

Keeping images on brand

Save durable visual guidance in the brand profile or Library: palette, visual rules, product imagery notes, and words to avoid in image prompts. One-off image edits should stay in the assistant prompt.

If a platform rejects media

Platforms can reject dimensions, file size, video duration, or formats. Replace the asset, check the crop or preview, wait a moment if the platform says the media is still processing, and try the publish again from the post flow.
