This page explains the security and control model at a product level. It avoids operational details that could weaken the service, but gives you enough context to understand what bbuddy stores and how to revoke access.
Authentication
You can sign in with email/password or Google, depending on the options available on your workspace. Keep your login protected the same way you would protect access to any publishing tool.
Social account access
When you connect a social account, the platform gives bbuddy an authorization it can use for approved actions. bbuddy stores that authorization securely and uses it only for the platform actions you enable, such as reading available account information, drafting from recent context, publishing, or scheduling.
Live platform scope
- X: connected account publishing for text and media.
- LinkedIn: member posting flow.
- Facebook: Page publishing through Meta.
- Instagram: Business or Creator publishing through Meta.
- Threads: profile publishing through Meta.
- TikTok: connected account publishing for video content.
- YouTube: connected account publishing for video content.
- Pinterest: pin publishing to your boards.
Where data lives
bbuddy stores workspace data in its application systems. Uploaded and generated media are stored so they can be attached to posts while the post is being reviewed, scheduled, or published.
Revoking access
Disconnect a channel inside Accounts to make bbuddy stop using that social account. For defense in depth, also revoke bbuddy from the platform's own connected-apps screen.
Reset versus delete
Reset account lives in Settings → Profile → Danger zone. It deletes product data such as Library items, posts, suggestions, automations, feeds, chats, brand profile, and social connections, but keeps your login, subscription row, and BBT ledger.
Delete account lives next to reset in the same Danger zone. It removes the login and related product data, including sessions, app data, subscription records, BBT records, and social account access. If an active bbuddy plan exists, bbuddy cancels it with the billing provider before deleting the account.
Media after deletion
Account-owned media is removed during reset or deletion. bbuddy also runs cleanup for older unused media.
